Predicting a problem before it happens at a lift station is important to avoid disastrous sewage spills that can pollute our drinking water, rivers, and lakes. Municipalities serve hundreds of thousands to several million customer, and many lift stations to keep sewage moving. If a lift station stops working, sewer line back-flow can affect many homes, businesses, institutions, and even hospitals.
Sun State Systems installed a radio communication tower and outfitted SCADA systems on existing lift stations for a local utility authority. These systems enable treatment plant technicians to monitor conditions, tank levels, and pump issues throughout the entire system, giving them time to dispatch field technicians & assets to the appropriate areas to correct crucial issues and minimize risk.
